Head Wrestling Coach
Mikah Labuanan wrestles Division I at California State University, Bakersfield. He is still competing, learning, and testing himself against some of the best wrestlers in the country.
Before college, Mikah finished his high-school career with an 88–2 record and four HHSAA State Wrestling Championships. He was inducted into the 2025 HHSAA Hall of Honor and earned NHSCA Senior All-American, NHSCA Scholar All-American, NWCA High School All-American, and NWCA Character & Leadership All-American honors.
Those results came from years of showing up, drilling the basics, and doing the work even when nobody was watching. That is the same approach he brings to coaching.
Overthrow Hui gives Mikah a way to pass what he has learned to the next generation of Hawaiʻi wrestlers. He teaches the techniques, mindset, and habits that helped him reach Division I wrestling.
As Mikah continues his college career, he brings new lessons home to his athletes. His goal is to help young wrestlers become more confident, reach their potential, and raise the level of wrestling in Hawaiʻi.
